🛑 Step-by-Step Guide: How to Deactivate Your Instagram Account (Temporarily)
✅ Step 1: Open Instagram in a Web Browser
Visit Instagram using a browser on your phone or computer.
You cannot deactivate your account from the mobile app.
✅ Step 2: Log In to Your Account
Enter your username and password.
If you have multiple accounts, make sure you're logged into the one you want to deactivate.
✅ Step 3: Go to Your Profile
Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
Select “Profile” and then click “Edit Profile.”
✅ Step 4: Click “Temporarily Disable My Account”
Scroll down to the bottom of the Edit Profile page.
Click the link that says “Temporarily disable my account.”
✅ Step 5: Choose a Reason
Instagram will ask you “Why are you disabling your account?”
Select a reason from the dropdown menu.
✅ Step 6: Re-enter Your Password
For security, you’ll need to type your password again.
✅ Step 7: Confirm Deactivation
Click the “Temporarily Disable Account” button.
Your account will now be hidden until you log back in.
