Thoroughly clean your house, especially the puja area—cleanliness is key to welcoming Goddess Lakshmi.
Decorate with rangoli, flowers, and diyas at the entrance and windows.
Light lamps and candles to dispel darkness and negativity.

Spread a red or yellow cloth on a raised platform or table.
