How To Do Diwali Puja?
๐งน Step 1: Clean & Decorate Your Home
Thoroughly clean your house, especially the puja area.
Decorate with rangoli, flowers, and diyas at the entrance and windows.
Place torans (decorative hangings) on doors to welcome Goddess Lakshmi.
๐ช Step 2: Set Up the Puja Space
Spread a red or yellow cloth on a raised platform.
Place idols or pictures of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha.
Keep Kalash (pot) filled with water, mango leaves, and a coconut nearby.
Arrange coins, rice, turmeric, kumkum, sweets, and flowers.
๐ฏ️ Step 3: Light Diyas and Incense
Light oil lamps (diyas) and incense sticks to purify the space.
Keep one diya burning throughout the puja.
๐ Step 4: Perform Ganesh Puja First
Apply tilak to Lord Ganesha.
Offer modaks or laddoos, flowers, and chant Ganesh mantras.
Pray for removal of obstacles and blessings.

Apply tilak and haldi-kumkum to Goddess Lakshmi.
Offer lotus flowers, sweets, coins, and rice grains.

Sprinkle kumkum and rice on all valuables (cash, jewelry, account books).

Sing Lakshmi and Ganesha Aarti with family.
Offer Prasad (sweets, fruits) and distribute among family members.
Place diyas in every room to invite prosperity.

Keep the main diya near the entrance overnight.
Close the puja with gratitude and silent prayer.
