Neeraj Chopra is from a Haryanavi agricultural family. He Was Born to Satish Kumar and Saroj Devi on 24 December 1997.
Chopra's father enrolled him in a gymnasium at Madlauda, Later Enrolled in a Gym in Panipat After local children teased him about his childhood obesity.
Jaiveer Choudhary recognized his early talent when Chopra has visited the nearby Panipat Sports Authority of India.
At the age of 13, he was admitted to the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula, four hours from his home and he trained under coach Naseem Ahmad, where he typically achieved throws of around 55 meters.
He won the 2012 junior nationals in Lucknow by achieving a new national record throw of 68.40 meters, After that, he entered his first international competition, the World Youth Championships in Ukraine.
Neeraj Chopra won his first international medal in 2014, a silver at the Youth Olympics Qualification in Bangkok.
Neeraj Chopra won a gold medal at the 2016 South Asian Games with a throw of 84.23 m, where Chopra equaled the Indian national record.
He won a gold medal in the 2016 IAAF World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and set a world junior record of 86.48 m, but failed to qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Indian Army offered Neeraj Chopra a direct appointment as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Rajputana Rifles with the rank of Naib Subedar, However, he left the NIS Patiala to train at the Sports Authority of India center in Bengaluru in September 2016.
After that he won many Gold Medals in Competitions, He made his debut at the Olympics representing India at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won the gold medal in the final on 7 August with a throw of 87.58 m.
He is the first Indian Olympian to win a gold medal in athletics, and the first post-independence Indian Olympic medalist in athletics.
Neeraj Chopra also became the second Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal after Abhinav Bindra, who won the gold medal in the men's 10 m air rifle in the 2008 Summer Olympics.
He dedicated his win to sprinters Milkha Singh and P. T. Usha.
