Prashanth Neel was born on June 4, 1980, in Hassan, Karnataka, India in a big joint family and to his parents Subhash Neelakantapuram and Bharati Subhash.

His Father hails from Neelakantapura, thus he gets the last name NEEL.

He has 2 Siblings Pradeep Neelakantapuram and Rekha Neelakantapuram. His family is well known in the film industry because they used to have a lot of shoots in their family hotels highlands and Moti mahal.

Prashanth Completed his schooling in Baldwin Boy's School, Bangalore, and Went to college at Seshadripuram College.

He spent most of his time bunking college with minimal attendance playing videogames and cricket.
