Shamna Kasim Popularly Known as Poorna, was the youngest of five children was born on 23 May 1989 in Kannur Kerala to the couple Ramla Beevi and Kassim (Local Fisherman).
She completed her schooling at Ursuline Senior Secondary School, Kannur, and at St. Teresa's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Kannur.
Poorna completed her Bachelor of Arts in English similarly. In Stage Shows, she is a dancer and resides in Kochi, Kerala.
In an interview, she said that at the early stages of her career Mohanlal was her Godfather.
She made her debut role in the film Manju Poloru Penkutty(2004) as " Dhanya" and in the Telugu film Sri Mahalakshmi(2007) as "Sri Mahalakshmi".
She got many opportunities like Seema tapakai, Avunu, and many other films.
Now she got opportunities in the film BB3 and Thalaivi as V.K Sasikala.
She is the Judge in many shows like Dazzling Friends Hunt, Dhee Jodi (Season 11 of Dhee), D5 Junior.
At Present she is one of the Primary Judge of the Dhee Kings vs Queens (2021).
