Shriya Saran was first trained as a child by her mother in
Kathak and Rajasthani folk dance and later trained by
Shovana Narayan in Kathak.
In 2003, Shriya Saran hosted the 50th Filmfare South Award with
actor R. Madhavan.
Shriya Saran was a part of Tamil director Mani Ratnam's stage the show, Netru, Indru, Naalai, an event which sought to raise funds
for "The Banyan", a voluntary organization that rehabilitates
homeless women with mental illness in Chennai.

for blind exactly opposite to our school. I used to go there every
week and spend time seeing how these students played cricket and did
other things normally. That is what inspired me to do something for
these people ".
